Home may mean different things to different people. That's why I'll share mine with you. It's a feeling. A tribe. A language.
Hold up there now! If you happened to have grown up in a country like mine, I know what you are thinking. I do not mean the tribe(s) you were born into (we have 42 well-known ones here). Or the language(s) you grew up speaking.
It is the kind of tribe you grow into. The language you feel most comfortable speaking. The feeling... well, that one's subjective.
Continue reading. Over time, I have become part of a tribe I call "Family". I also have an understanding of what family means to me. Blood is not the only definition. For me, openness means speaking the same language as the other. A language of vulnerability. An openness that invites discovery. A language of growth. A language of wellness.
I believe there are a lot of other languages that I will find comfortable speaking as I go. But the first step into finding my tribe, my language and my home was finding myself. Knowing who I am (was at the time). Digging deep into my soul to fetch the values that I have been able to cultivate over time.
Only then, did I have the feeling of home. That was the beginning of the vast places and spaces that feel like home to right now.
So for me home is not necessarily a place. Home is the people. Home is a feeling.
